"Dr" Azizan Osman Cult (BRUNEI BRANCH)

Ever since i started business, I've noticed this cancerous trend of young and old entrepreneurs who have been promoting the "Marketing Master" "Dr" Azizan Osman, who has been exposed in Malaysia for his fake PhD's (but people are just gonna give him a pass so they can feel good about wasting their money to sit in his VIP seminars).
Local entrepreneurs who have been duped into his cult "mentorship" will mention his name in every newspaper, radio, video interview to promote him. They will sound very confident about how they have "mastered marketing". There are some youtube videos of his giving business and marketing advice with the emotional background music to lure local entrepreneurs into his trap. His ticket prices go up to almost 4000 myr, and its mostly marketing or business advice you can get from a nice cheap book or browsing the internet or those awesome Jack Ma (alibaba.com) videos (free) on youtube.
Why am I so salty? Coz i have a special hate in my heart for MLM's and MLM-ish cults and their deceptive methods of bleeding our people dry, and i hate that his cult slaves are promoting him everywhere. Now I know that mentioning his name here might promote him in a way, but i trust that the majority of the reddit community will not fall into his trap. I wanna know what people think of this cult movement being present in Brunei.
Even in the west, marketing or business coaching is considered a new way of ponzi or scamming people. Here is some logic, if youre successful you will share your knowledge for free. This is similar to the "Master Forex Trader" scam where they charge people to teach them how to be a master, and if things go south its your fault, not the scammer.

GWFX Global Forex Trader

Hi,
I found this forex company with a really cool mobile app platform and im keen on making deposits but i see numerous indicators telling me its a scam. So the app has 100k + downloads on android with 3000 5 star reviews, this is the only positive thing to it though. I must add that you get a $20 referral bonus if someone sends you the link but upon further investigation they located in grenadine which is a high forex trader scam location. The license numbers they provide isnt picking up and the one i did find turns out to have gotten rejected by the FCA which is the UK financial regulator. Im an experienced trader and ive never come accross that works this well with my strategy on a mobile app. Im keen on getting feedback for all of you who is/have used there platform before because i dont want to deposit and lose my money. The minimum deposit is $50 and granted that this is a low amount of money, it would still hurt if i lost it knowing that I was aware that they are running an unregulated brokerage firm. I monitored GBP/USD of GWFX and GT247 which is definitely a legit broker in South Africa because they a subsidiary of a well known publicly listed company. Please, can someone put my mind at ease so I let it go. I accumulated $23000 dollars with my free $20 bonus so if it is legit im pretty sure i should be able to cash out majority of it

Can traders who don’t scam help me understand the appeal of Forex?

Soon to be college freshman, and I’ve seen a large rise in Forex traders amongst high schoolers and college students around my age. Enough that it’s not surprising how easy it is to convince someone to start. They all say “ Get rich quick”, “Make a second income from your phone”, “I’ve been using Forex for “time period under a year”, and have been making more than your parents”. Literally everyone pushes a “ I’m making a shit ton of money and I just started image”, which is obscene to me. One thing about them is that they never show actual profit, or explain Forex enough so I can understand the appeal.
Almost everyone say to join a class or group or something similar, then I found out there’s a fee to get in, and that apparently it’s some type of scam where those new traders try to enlist under people and get fees(200$+). None of the traders ever talk about failures in the process of achieving positives, or negatives/setbacks. Pretty much they make it sound like a perfect money maker
For one, I can’t really believe this is a get rich quick scheme, especially for freshman college students I know who can barely save or handle their finances/allowance money. And if it was, then it would be way more popular, because then everyone would be rich as long as they joined the group.
I haven’t met anyone who told me they studied on their own, but that they joined a group. I see pictures of seminars and group meetings, and advertisements to “join my Forex group”, with a older college student in front of a car wearing a nice outfit.
Plus, if you’re actually skeptical, a lot of them get defensive or showcase a “ I’m smarter and you’ll wish you started this” type rant. Some say, “this is my only income, I don’t have even a part time job “
I’m not saying I doubt Forex value, but I doubt the narratives pushed , but I assume these teenagers don’t research as much as you guys regardless, so honestly were you guys really making extreme profit starting off? If not, when did you guys see extreme profit? If yes, how much research and time did you put in?
Are the groups needed? Can you use this as a single income?
I’ve just started getting into investing with a, make money for the long road instead of get rich quick. Is Forex more in that side?

What is the deal with organizations like Primerica and some of these Forex Traders? Is it a scam?

Every other day I get a DM from a complete stranger about Primerica or Forex and frankly, I'm very curious as to whether this is just a huge pyramid scheme.
I understand with Primerica that the more people you have "under" you, the more you make through some sort of commission.
Forex is just a very confusing behemoth to me, I know it's a currency exchange but these pitches are so vague unless you invest and I don't get it at all.
I've always been taught that if it sounds too good to be true and if you research and can't find enough info, its most likely a scam.
If anyone has had an experience with this, I would love to hear your perspective.
TLDR: Are Forex and Primerica huge scams? Thoughts and opinions are very welcome.

Foreign exchange represents the largest asset class in the world due to its huge trading volume and therefore the highest liquidity. With a 24X5 operation of the Forex market, it offers enormous opportunities to the traders to earn a decent income by buying and selling currencies. Although there are many trusted Forex brokers who provide a fair platform for the Forex traders to trade and win good returns, there are some scam Forex brokers too which run the business only to trap traders into Forex broker scams.
There are numerous ways by which a Forex trader is victimized by a Forex broker scam.
  • A scam Forex broker offers a fake Forex trading software which is not really connected to the Forex market and performs manipulation to cheat traders.
  • A scam Forex broker guarantees huge returns without any risk
  • Traders are not allowed to withdraw their profits or initial deposits by making ridiculous excuses or demanding more and more new documents
These are only a few ways by which scam Forex brokers cheat Forex traders. Falling as a prey to the Forex broker scams can be avoided if certain steps are followed in selecting a good broker.

Askreddit: Automated forex traders - scams or not? Could I build my own?

It seems I only get scammish results everytime I google for "automated traders". Are there actually some out there that work?
I've thought about building my own, too. Some forex brokers publish an API. Does anyone have any experience related to this? Is it actually possible to build one that at least doesn't lose money? I'm doing CompSci with loads of AI classes and like to think I could apply these principles, but I've no idea how succesful it'd actually be.

Hi, I'm new into Forex and I have some questions. (sorry for bad grammar but I'm not good in English)

Hi, I live in Portugal where making 800€ its an "decent" amount of money per mouth. I'm not rich, but I'm not poor either but I'm a bit limited about the deposit volume. I can't give 1000€ and to speak frenkly I'm looking for a good broker with a good laverage where I can spend about 10€ - 100€ max.
Like a said, I'm new, I'm a student and I hope someday I will make a living with forex. I know it's a lot of work, I don't know what strategies I'm looking for or what indicators are usefull or not, the only strategie I know so far is the how to identify a trend.
I'm curious about all the groups on Instagram about courses, but I like to think that I'm not that dumb and I don't want do fall in a scam choosing a wrong "guru".
I have some books to read about forex but again, I don't know if they are good or "modern".
So, my questions are: . Is there a good broker with a honest laverage for someone who can only spend 100€ max? . What are the main strategies to study first? . What's better, 1min trade? Day trades? Months trade? . Are robot are actually good and if yes, how to install? . Are copy trading actually legit??
Thanks for the time spend reading my problems and sorry again for the bad English.

Journalist looking for information/leads on forex scams in the era of COVID-19

Hello Forex!
My name is Ed Prideaux and I’m a UK-based journalist (VICE, BBC, FT, Guardian, Independent, Spectator, etc.). I’m interested in writing an article about how scammers are using the internet - and especially social media platforms like IG - to recruit new bait amid the financial stresses of COVID-19.
One area I want to explore is Forex trading, which has attracted its fair share of fake gurus, 'mentors' and other scammers for a while. I’m looking for tips, potential leads, and things to read and check out. Please share anything and everything you think I should see, and especially if it’s connected to COVID-19 and the economic slowdown.
Ideally, I’d also like to source some testimonies from people in the sub-reddit who were recently scammed. As above, I’m especially interested in hearing from those who were targeted and fell for a scam because of financial hardship triggered by the global recession. For testimonies, everything would be anonymous on request. If you want to help, feel free to PM me or leave a comment, and I’ll PM you.
Thanks -
Ed
